Knute's Tap Room was an amazing choice for date night with my wife, far exceeding our expectations. Located in a small town, it took over the space of an old Appalachian brewery, but the transformation is impressive. The atmosphere is perfect—moody, romantic, and stylish without being cliche. The lighting is just right, with modern tabletop accents and comfortable seating that create a cozy, upscale vibe. Now, about the food: every dish we tried was fantastic. I was initially concerned about portion sizes, but they ended up being spot on, and the seasoning was flawless. I’ve dined at places charging three to four times as much, yet they couldn’t match this level of flavor. We tried a variety—their handheld burger, steak entree, and an appetizer—and every item was a home run. That level of consistency is impressive, especially for a local spot. The drinks were equally well-executed. Beers were around 6 and had a great craft selection, while my wife’s specialty cocktails (about 12 each) were top-notch and worth every penny. Service rounded out the experience. Our waitress was on top of everything, with help from another server and the owner herself, who greeted guests at the door. It was packed, with every table occupied, but they handled it seamlessly. The team’s dedication added a personal touch that elevated the entire night. Overall, Knute's Tap Room is a gem—delicious food, a beautiful setting, and top-tier service make it a standout worth visiting.
The All-New re-opened Knute’s...w/ all new atmosphere & menu. Highly recommend the crabcake sandwich, salmon encrusted crab w/ risotto & broccoli and the lamb chop lollipops appetizer. Nice atmosphere w/ friendly staff!!
Best menu in Shippensburg!! Food is always on point, steak is amazing, great atmosphere and a big selection of cold beer on tap!! Highly recommend!!
We came here for dinner on a Friday evening. We sat at the bar but there were tables open at the time so I don’t think we would have had to wait. We ordered a couple drinks, a shrimp appetizer and shrimp tortellini to share. The food and drinks were very good. The bartenders were personable and attentive. The atmosphere was casual and easygoing. There was one loud group towards the front door but they calmed down after a bit. We parked on the street about a block away - not sure if there is a lot anywhere. I would definitely come here again.
We had an unexpectedly pleasant Valentine's Day lunch at Knute's. Newly opened, I was pleasantly surprised. The entrance is beyond what might be expected in Shippensburg. We sat at the bar and were served by Alex who made us feel very comfortable. The menu was impressive. The food was served professionally. It was an enjoyable lunch and we had a great time. A welcome experience for our town.
Everything was fantastic! I got the flat iron steak and my husband had a burger. We shared the special: crab stuffed mushrooms. All the food was fresh and seasoned perfectly--I didn't even need to salt, which is rare for me. I had 2 seasonal cocktails: apple cider margarita and a pumpkin spice cold foam espresso tini, which were delicious! The atmosphere was on the classier side, and perfect for a local date night. Our waitress seemed a little overwhelmed, but she had a great attitude and checked in on us plenty. 10/10 can't wait to go back. Sooo happy this place came to town!
This place is absolutely incredible. The drinks are fabulous, we tried four different ones between the two of us, and every one was delicious! The food was some of the best I’ve had in this area in a long time. Shippensburg food scene is dying a little in the past two years, and this is the revival it needs. Must gets: Risotto, Lamb (lollipops or entree), and anything with their crab, thank me later.
Love this place. The upstairs is a private room you can rent out for events. The wings are delicious and they have a wide selection of brews!
